Risk Management (Insurance)

Risk Management’s mission is to encourage and support practices that mitigate the risk of adverse events that affect people, property and the mission of the University by:

• Managing the University’s insurance and self insurance program
• Overseeing related claims
• Advising units regarding methods to control the risk of fortuitous loss to the University

Risk Management has responsibility for insurance management including purchasing insurance, managing self-insurance programs, and overseeing claims. Staff consults with contracting units on the appropriateness of insurance terms in contracts. The office advises units regarding methods to control the risk of fortuitous loss to the University.
